Starting a walk

If you lose your dog and need to ask your Petivity GPS Tracker to start live-tracking them, it can take several minutes to get going. This is because of the way your Tracker saves battery by snoozing.

However, if you know in advance that you might need to track your dog at short notice, say if you're going out on a walk, you can start live-tracking in advance so that it's ready to immediately find your dog if you need it. To do that:

  1. Open the Petivity Dog Tracker app.

  2. Navigate to the LOCATION tab.

  3. Tap the "Start a walk" button.

The next time your Tracker is in touch (within a couple of minutes in good network conditions), it'll acknowledge your request and start live-tracking mode. Then, when you tap FIND MY DOG NOW, you'll see your dog on the map almost immediately.
